Job Summary :
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the organization’s frontline, providing exceptional service and skilled specimen collection for patients. This position involves performing phlebotomy and specimen processing duties while ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality. The PSR II interacts directly with patients in various clinical settings, including patient service centers, physician offices, and outreach programs.
The role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in patient care and laboratory standards .
Key Responsibilities :
Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients across all age groups.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
Verify patient information post-collection, confirming identification and signatures.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols .
Provide support and coverage for other phlebotomy locations as needed.
Maintain a professional environment and uphold company values during all patient interactions.
Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume setting .
Assist with onboarding and training new staff when required.
Required Experience :
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Prior customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service industry highly preferred.
Strong keyboard / data entry and computer proficiency.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education & Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred. (Required in CA, NV, and WA.)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required for travel assignments.
