Job description

Overview

As an Electronic Design Engineering Project Manager (Electrical Engineer II) at Honeywell, you will design, develop, and implement electrical systems, provide technical expertise, and support cross-functional teams to ensure project success. You will report to the GROE ES and ES Director for AERO and work on-site at our Olathe, KS location.

You will play a key role in leading and managing advanced electronic design engineering projects. The project manager will provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to the team, ensuring successful execution of projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation, improve processes, and achieve project objectives. This role focuses on driving Repair & Overhaul (R&O) engineering projects aimed at reducing backlog, improving turnaround time (TAT), and increasing first pass yield. The selected candidate will analyze data and work with engineers to project-manage required actions to identify alternative solutions for part shortages and develop component-level repairs to reduce TAT across the value stream.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to reduce Repair & Overhaul (R&O) cost through in-depth data analysis, opportunity identification, and project implementation.
  • Actively manage efforts to increase the value proposition of Honeywell's aftermarket operations.
  • Support repair development efforts, via in-house or supplier operations.
  • Develop & implement projects targeted to reduce overall R&O TAT from receiving to shipping
  • Drive closure of action plans to improve internal / external repair cost performance and maturity levels
  • Serve as a product advocate for assigned projects by engaging with operations, procurement, buyers, and commodity managers to reach objectives
  • Conduct workshops and product line deep-dives to identify new backlog and scrap reduction ideas
  • Project Management activities :

Schedule and Milestone development / management

  • Estimation development and capacity analysis
  • Metric development / reporting
  • Risk / OPP development and management
  • Project performance tracking
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 2+ years managing engineering projects, including :
  • New product introduction

  • Transition of product, facility or vendor
  • Experience working with vendors (procure parts or equipment, vendor certifications) :
  • Experience on capital projects

  • Leading cross-functional projects
  • Continuous improvement / cost reduction experience.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
