American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an ICU assignment requiring ICU experience and expertise in titrating critical drips.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 4-bed ICU in an acute care community hospitalNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Patient population includes DKA, septic shock, ETOH withdrawal, hypoxemia, ARDS, and Covid casesCommonly titrate drips including propofol, levophed, dobutamine, precedex, fentanyl, insulin, esmolol, versed, and ketamineUse of Mindray and telemetry monitoring; must be able to read and interpret tele stripsCharting system is EpicShift is 12 hours, nights, 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30amWork every other weekend with potential for holiday rotationFloating to IMCU or MS required and may include full patient assignment; with ED experience, may float to ED or act as helping handsOrientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptorCharge nurse does not take a patient assignment unless necessary and oversees ICU, IMCU, and MS on the same floorShared nurse aids and support staff available on the unitHospitalist present 24 / 7, with intensivist in-house M-F 8-5 and telemedicine support after hours and weekendsRespiratory therapist is available in the facility 24 / 7 and assists with ICU careRequired to wear any color scrubs; no visible face tattoos and natural hair colors onlyHoliday shifts may be required if they fall on a scheduled shiftFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active OR RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of ICU nursing experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; TNCC and PALS preferredMust be proficient in titration and administration of critical care dripsExperience with Epic EMR preferredMust be comfortable with limited resources typical of a small community hospital\n Benefits\n
