Department Information
The Georgia Tech Post Office is here for all of your mailing needs. You can send packages, purchase mail supplies, and much more. Students living on campus can find their virtual mailbox at the Post Office as well as the package pick-up window for picking up parcels.
The Georgia Tech Post Office provides mail and parcel pick-up services for students receiving packages from the United States Postal Service (USPS), United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express (FedEx), Airborne and DHL. Outgoing shipping services are provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS) only.
Job Summary
Oversee and train mail center staff, provide guidance to the Postal services clerks, manage the assignment of mail boxes, mail forwarding, student organization mail distribution appointments and mail directory service. Prepare daily postage reports, provide customer service to include responding to customer inquiries, postage sales and accountability for cash drawer. Assume supervisory role and perform associated tasks in the absence of the supervisor.This position will interact on a consistent basis with : faculty, staff, students, and external customers. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Provide backup support, sell stamps, and mail parcels at the retail stamp window.
Job Duty 2 -
Supervise and participate in the receipt, sorting, and delivery of incoming mail and packages.
Job Duty 3 -
Oversee the assignment of mail boxes, and rent mail boxes to eligible students. Maintain and print student assignment box labels.
Job Duty 4 -
Provide customer service to include responding to customer inquiries, postage sales, and assisting students with problems concerning delivery of mail.
Job Duty 5 -
Accountable for cash drawer.
Job Duty 6 -
Answer telephones and provide general postal information.
Job Duty 7 -
Pick and deliver mail on assigned routes, operate mail delivery motor vehicle.
Job Duty 8 -
Prepare daily postage reports, and compile and submit occasional productivity reports.
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Other Required Qualifications
Valid Georgia driver's license.
Required Experience
Two years of job related experience

SKILLS
Basic computer skills and effective customer service skills.
