Job description

Program Director - Nexus / Greenfield Day Program

At ServiceNet, our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to live full and meaningful lives. Through social skills development, recreational activities, vocational training, and employment support, we focus on friendships, inclusivity, and strength-based learning while fostering community engagement.

Our day programs provide a diverse range of activities, including art, technology, music, social skills training, and community outings, while also offering personal care assistance, individualized behavioral support, and medication administration for individuals with higher support needs.

We are seeking a Program Leader to oversee and develop programming for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, including those with complex behavioral and medical needs. This role involves staff management, individualized participant support, program operations, and community engagement, ensuring a structured and inclusive environment where participants can thrive, build skills, and gain independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized day and vocational programs tailored to participants' abilities, medical needs, and behavioral goals.
  • Integrate therapeutic activities, behavioral interventions, and community-based opportunities to enhance skill development.
  • Provide direct support for personal care and medication administration as needed.
  • Foster an inclusive, structured environment that promotes skill-building, dignity, and independence.
  • Supervise and support instructors, job coaches, and direct care staff, ensuring competency in personal care assistance, behavioral support strategies, crisis intervention, and medication administration.
  • Lead regular team meetings focused on individualized participant needs, best practices, and program strategies.
  • Ensure staff compliance with MAP (Medication Administration Program) regulations and other licensing requirements.
  • Oversee individualized behavioral management plans in collaboration with clinical and therapeutic teams.
  • Ensure staff provide hands-on personal care support (hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance).
  • Participate in Individual Service Plan (ISP) meetings to align programming with participant goals.
  • Oversee daily scheduling, transportation coordination, and activity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, emergency procedures, and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and medical professionals to oversee health-related concerns and medication administration.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the program, families, caregivers, and external partners.
  • Advocate for increased opportunities in vocational training, social engagement, and community participation for individuals with higher support needs.
  • Build relationships with local organizations and businesses to develop partnerships and employment opportunities.
  • Oversee program expenses while ensuring adequate resources for adaptive equipment, hygiene supplies, and therapeutic materials.
  • Work with the Vice President of Vocational Services to explore funding opportunities to enhance participant experiences.
  • Train staff in de-escalation techniques and behavioral management to maintain a safe, structured environment.
  • Ensure staff are prepared to handle medical emergencies, administer first aid, and coordinate with emergency services.
  • Monitor and document behavioral incidents and facilitate appropriate follow-ups with caregivers and clinical teams.
  • Stay informed on best practices in disability services, behavioral health, and person-centered care.
  • Implement training opportunities for staff to enhance skills in personal care, behavioral support, and clinical interventions.
  • Continuously assess and refine program offerings to better meet the evolving needs of participants.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and complex behavioral needs in a leadership role.
  • Ability to oversee a program serving individuals with significant support needs, including personal care assistance, medication administration, and behavioral management.
  • MAP certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a human services setting.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Benefits

  • Generous PTO (time-off) package.
  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance plans.
  • Life insurance and long-term disability insurance.
  • 403(b) retirement plan.
  • Tuition remission for eligible classes.
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility and tuition assistance.
  • Opportunities for career development and advancement.
  • And much more
