Principle Structural Engineer

We're looking for a

• Principal Engineer and Team Lead
• to take the helm of all engineering related functions at our engineering firm and bridge the gap between traditional structural engineering and the innovative software development world of our online international software company.

This is a unique leadership opportunity to guide a talented team of engineers, collaborate with architects and developers, and contribute directly to the evolution of cutting-edge engineering software used across the residential construction industry.

• Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all day-to-day operations of residential engineering firm, including oversight of projects, QA, and team direction.
• Serve as
• Principal Engineer
• for design work across residential and light-commercial projects.
• Collaborate with our internal
• software development
• and
• engineering QC
• teams to improve international software products design algorithms and usability.
• Mentor E.I.T.s and other P.E.s, providing technical guidance and career development.
• Maintain and enhance client relationships, ensuring timely, permit-ready deliverables.
• Participate in ongoing development of tools that merge
• structural engineering and software technology
• Requirements
• Master's degree in
• Structural Engineering
• preferred (Bachelor's required)
• P.E. license
• in at least one U.S. state (required)
• 10+ years
• of experience in residential design using wood, concrete, masonry, steel, and cold-formed steel
• Demonstrated
• team leadership experience
• managing P.E.s, architects, and E.I.T.s
• Strong interpersonal and
• client communication skills
• Experience securing
• building permits
• and navigating jurisdictional processes
• Willingness to
• relocate to Albany, Oregon
• within 3 months of hire
• Bonus Skills
• Programming experience in
• Python
• or another math / science-related language
• Familiarity with
• software QA
• or
• engineering automation
• tools
• Passion for blending
• engineering expertise with technology innovation

Job Type : Full-time

Projected Total Compensation : $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
