Our client, a full-service corporate and event catering company in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations, production schedules, and team performance.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced catering environment — balancing organization, quality control, and staff coordination to ensure every order and event exceeds client expectations.
- Supervise day-to-day kitchen production, preparation, and event order fulfillment.
- Manage kitchen staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Track inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs to achieve profitability goals.
- Enforce ServSafe, sanitation, and safety compliance standards.
- Coordinate with event and delivery teams to ensure smooth, on-time execution.
- Support menu updates and seasonal offerings.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or Production Lead in a catering or banquet environment.ServSafe Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).Strong organizational and leadership skills with excellent communication.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (occasional deliveries, errands, or event setup required).Flexibility to work early mornings (5 : 00 a.m. start 3–6× / month) and rotating weekends, particularly during the busy holiday season (September–January).Benefits
