Overview
GovCIO is excited to welcome applications for a Journeyman System Administrator position. This role requires an active Secret clearance and offers the flexibility of being fully remote. Join us in our mission to transform government IT!
Responsibilities
- Establish and ensure the seamless operation of computer systems, encompassing operating systems, software, and hardware, in both networked and standalone configurations.
- Maintain system integrity while executing necessary upgrades to systems and servers.
- Create and document new methodologies to enhance network / system operations and implement procedural changes.
- Collaborate with support teams, help desks, and customers to troubleshoot issues and coordinate operational and maintenance activities for networks / servers.
- Identify recurring problems and propose solutions to mitigate their impact.
- Evaluate and plan for transitioning development and production environments to adopt new technologies.
- Utilize system software for monitoring system file performance and manage system data to ensure operational efficiencies.
- Regularly oversee and analyze short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Draft and maintain comprehensive documentation, including operational instructions.
- Write or modify scripts to resolve performance issues and automate administrative tasks.
- Recommend improvements to systems and network configurations, specifying hardware or software requirements.
Qualifications
High School diploma with 6-9 years of system administration or related experience.Possession of an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain DEA suitability.Company Overview
