ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation / decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
- Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
- Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
- Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation / redline work.
- Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.Must understand customer service.Cleared understanding of job safety requirements.Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring test.Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians.Perform 4 pair continuity testingPull all types of low voltage cable including copper telecom cablePerforming all types of copper field terminationsInstall ladder racking and seismic bracingPatch network equipmentRead and Understand Port Maps / MatricesRead and understand job floor plan and TC drawingsShould understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.Install Copper and Fiber Cabling and labelingAffixing Labels to cabling and Power CordsAffix bar coding to equipmentAffix free printed labelCut and install threaded rodCut and install Uni-strutCut and install fiber troughCreate / test Bonding whips, straps, and connectionsUnderstand the basics of "FIM" and operate scannerInstall and test coax cabling (series 6 & 11)Install OSP cables through conduits and maintenanceInstall pull strings through conduits, in ceilingsInstall ISP cables through conduits, in ceilings,Install box eliminators (mud rings) in drywallHow to install / maintain firestoppingUnderstanding / Usage of fiber types (SM / MM / Ribbon)Install and Service Network EquipmentInstall ISP / OSP into cable enclosures (OSE)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily walking, standing, and bending for extended periods with some sitting.Ability to communicate effectively with verbal, written, visual and listening skills.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required equipment as well as to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.Able to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds.Ability to pull cables.Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platforms.LI-onsite
