Job Summary :
We're seeking a General Welder to perform basic welding tasks to support daily operations. The ideal candidate will be able to weld and fabricate simple metal components, assist with repairs, and follow safety protocols to ensure efficient and compliant work processes. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and teamwork within the operations department.
Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication : Perform basic welding tasks (MIG, stick, or torch) on mild steel and other metals as assigned.
Repairs : Assist in repairing equipment, containers, or parts requiring welding.
Cutting & Assembly : Use torch cutting and grinding tools to prepare and assemble metal parts.
Quality & Safety : Follow welding specifications, safety standards, and company procedures to ensure quality work.
Equipment Maintenance : Inspect and maintain welding equipment, tools, and PPE to ensure safe and reliable use.
Support Operations : Collaborate with mechanics, operators, and other personnel to support maintenance and repair projects.
Documentation : Record completed work, including parts used and time spent, as directed by the Shop Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience : 1–3 years of general welding experience; ability to demonstrate proficiency with MIG or stick welding.
Technical Knowledge : Familiarity with welding techniques, materials, and tools.
Safety Awareness : Knowledge of safe practices for welding, grinding, and handling hot materials.
Physical Ability : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
Work Ethic : Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to follow instructions.
Certification : Welding certification a plus, but not required for intermediate-level experience.
Working Conditions
Environment : Work is primarily outdoors or in workshops; may involve dust, noise, and hot conditions.
Physical Demands : Bending, lifting, grinding, and standing for extended periods.
Shifts : Monday – Friday (7 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM) and Saturdays (8 : 00 AM – 12 : 30 PM), with occasional overtime as needed.
