Position Overview
The Business Development & Research Administrator will support APA Search’s growth by managing the business development dashboard, tracking industry activity, researching prospective clients, and assisting with outreach-related tasks.
This is a remote, part-time role (10–20 hours / week) with flexibility across 2–3 days per week . You’ll work closely with the VP of Talent Acquisition & Strategic Partnerships and receive initial training directly from APA’s founder.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development Support
- Maintain and update the BD Dashboard with new leads, notes, and company insights.
- Track executive leadership announcements using :
- Industry news outlets
- Business publications
- Trade magazines
- Publicly shared leadership and company updates
- Accurately log company details, titles, source links, contact info, notes, and follow-up status.
Research & Lead Generation
Build and refine lead lists for :
Growth-focused companies and investment-backed organizationsCompanies across a range of product and service sectorsSenior leadership changes and new executive appointmentsConduct online research to identify key decision-makers and organizational structures.Identify companies experiencing expansion, investment activity, or leadership transitions and tag accordingly in the dashboard.Outreach Coordination & Support
Assist in preparing business development materials and client-facing documents.
Track outreach activity, log responses, and organize follow-up reminders.Flag high-value leads or timely opportunities for the leadership team.Industry & Market Monitoring
Monitor :
Leadership changesCompany growth and expansion newsInvestment activity and restructuringSector-specific trends across relevant industriesProvide weekly summaries highlighting notable updates and opportunities.Tools You Will Use

Ideal Candidate Profile
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.Strong online research skills; curious and resourceful.Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.Strong written communication skills.Able to work independently across 2–3 days / week and manage priorities.Experience in executive search, research, or investment-backed environments is helpful but not required.Hours & Compensation
