Peer Support Specialist for Substance Use Disorder Services

Substance Use Disorder Services (SUD) provides structured individual and group addiction activities and are provided at an outpatient program designed to assist adult a time-limited, multi-faceted approach treatment service for adults to begin recovery and learn skills for recovery maintenance.

The role of the SUD Peer Support Specialist is to serve those individuals with SUD, relating their own life experiences and who have been trained and certified to help others with these conditions, as well as identifying and achieving specific life and recovery goals.

Pay : $17.00 per hour

Schedule : M-F

Job Responsibilities

• Modeling effective coping and self-help techniques to individuals
• Providing empowerment skills and support in successful recovery living
• Assisting individuals in finding resources, advising of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed
• Leading peer support groups with individuals served
• Supporting / assisting individuals in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems
• Facilitating social opportunities in the community
• Fostering development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities
• Sharing personal story of recovery and resilience to instill hope
