Job descriptionGenerate and submit medical insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility. Review and resolve billing discrepancies and coding issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations. Answer and direct phone calls, take messages and provide information to patients. Verify patient information, including insurance details during check in. Assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry and record keeping. Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and providers to resolve billing and insurance-related issues. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPPA regulations. Will be cross-trained to back up team members in the office as needed, both administrative and clinical. Ability to sit, stand, type, move, bend, and reach intermittently for an 8-hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs on rare occasion Previous customer service via phone and in-person and previous cash handling experience required Other Duties as assigned. Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office applications. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent required. Insurance Billing preferred. Familiarity with medical coding and billing software. Physical Requirements : The position may require sitting for extended periods, occasional lifting, and standing.
