Position Overview :
Our team is expanding and looking for a Senior Purchasing Manager for our Minth North America region to be based in Wixom, MI United States.
We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities:
- The Purchasing Manager will manage the organization's purchasing function. Ensures policies, procedures, and strategies related to the procurement and sourcing of goods and services are followed. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Works with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Responsibilities also include ensuring purchasing requirements and metrics are met at all program milestones and the development and communication of program sourcing strategy.
- Purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from a global supply base and evaluating supplier quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers utilizing knowledge of various articles of commerce and experience.
Other duties include :
Assist the VP of Purchasing and Plant Manager with the development / execution of the corporate purchasing planActively conduct bidding and assist in negotiations to achieve the best possible price, cost reductions and avoidances as well as service guaranteesNegotiate, write, and administer contracts for commodities and parts about the businessDevelops new supply sources where vendors are inadequateExamine bids and makes recommendationsNegotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time periodFollows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws. And ensure compliance to safety and corporate guidelines on business ethicsCoach and mentor BuyersAssist team with day-to-day troubleshootingTeam performance management e.g. setting up KPIs, monitoring performance, conduct performance reviews and evaluation etc.Serve as the first point of escalation within the Purchasing departmentManage an assigned set of commoditiesTo be a qualified candidate you must have the following :
Bachelor's Degree, in Supply Chain or Business Administration or relevant work experienceMinimum 10 years of purchasing experience or a combination of education and experienceKeys to be successful In This Role :
Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environmentMinimum 5 years within the automotive industryStrong leadership capabilityAdept in the use of ERP / MRP systems and employing Lean / Continuous Improvement methodsProven analytical and negotiating skillsProficiency with MS Office : Word, Excel, PowerPointOrganizational skills for efficient office control are mandatoryAbility to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organizationAbility to make sound and timely decisionsWhy work for Minth?
