We are currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Somers, CT . This is a full-time, hands-on role for an experienced professional who wants to work in a stable environment and support our fleet operations and student training equipment.

Position Summary

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on our fleet vehicles, including oil changes, brake service, tire work, and other repair tasks. The role includes conducting basic diagnostics—especially on A / C and electrical systems—and using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot more complex mechanical and electronic issues when needed.

This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and includes facility maintenance tasks such as snow removal and salting of the driving yard and walkways.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on diesel trucks (oil changes, brake service, tire work, etc.)
• Conduct basic diagnostics and repairs, including electrical and A / C systems
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
• Complete thorough mechanical inspections and replace defective components
• Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with DOT and safety regulations
• Assist with general facility maintenance and seasonal snow removal (snowplow training provided)
• Communicate with instructors and staff to identify repair needs
• Support campus operations with other duties as assigned
