Audio Visual Fabrication Engineer - Intermediate
FedTec is seeking a skilled Audio Visual Fabrication Engineer who will provide technical expertise in the design, installation, testing, and sustainment of AV systems supporting missions across headquarters and brigade-level facilities. This role focuses on fabricating, installing, and maintaining audio / visual solutions including projection systems, flat panel displays, conferencing systems, and integrated AV infrastructure ensuring reliable support for classrooms, training environments, and command events. The Engineer will also support lifecycle upgrades, troubleshooting, and configuration of AV equipment.

Security Clearance : Verifiable DoD Secret (or higher) is Required
Certifications : Must have verifiable CompTIA Security+ Certification
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test all types of AV cables, connectors, and interfaces, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Fabricate and wire AV racks, configure system layouts, and integrate components from multiple vendors.
- Install, mount, and configure projection screens, displays, and audio systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and training facilities.
- Support Audio / Video (A / V) and Video Teleconference (VTC) systems, ensuring operability for classified and unclassified environments.
- Manage and execute AV-related projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and system documentation to guide installation and troubleshooting.
- Perform workflow analysis, testing, and corrective actions to improve AV system reliability and performance.
- Support event operations, including setup, testing, and operation of recording, streaming, and conferencing systems (e.g., Cisco, Polycom, AMX, Crestron).
- Provide Tier II / III troubleshooting support, resolving AV system issues and escalating complex problems as needed.
- Track AV support requirements and maintain scheduling for AV facilities and equipment.
- Research, recommend, and support implementation of next-generation AV technologies for lifecycle refresh or upgrades.
- Maintain documentation for all AV systems, including wiring diagrams, equipment lists, and testing records.
Basic Qualifications Required Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience
Education : Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or Associate s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.5+ years of experience in AV system installation, fabrication, and sustainment.Hands-on expertise with major AV vendors (Cisco, Crestron, Extron, AMX, Polycom, etc.).Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise AV / VTC environments in DoD or federal facilities.Strong understanding of AV cabling, connectors, and signal types.Ability to read and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.Knowledge of IP, ISDN, and AV networking fundamentals.Strong troubleshooting and system testing capabilities.Minimum Citizenship Status Requirements : US CitizenWhen You Join FedTec, You Are Joining a Family!
