Summary : The Capacity Command Center Assistant Manager, under the direct and indirect supervision of the Director, is accountable with all levels of NGHS system patient access and throughput. The Assistant Manager will assist with day-to-day problem solving and will facilitate communication between the Capacity Command Center staff and key stakeholders. He / She coordinates, elevates and resolves problems and conflicts as they occur. The Assistant Manager has shift accountability for patient flow, matching patient needs with available resources and elevates patient safety concerns / situations as well as any other situation that is unable to be resolved during the shift. Administrative duties include staffing and scheduling, education, unit staff selection, retention and performance management, including coaching and counseling. The Assistant Manager role serves as a succession plan for the Manager / Director role. The Assistant Manager assists in the advancement of the professional practice environment by communicating the NGHS nursing strategic direction and focusing on activities that support the Nursing Strategic Initiatives. Provides nursing involvement support for Professional Nursing Governance and the NDNQI quality workgroup, including providing team members for professional participation. Assists with overall clinical governance and other projects as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Licensure or other certifications : Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia. Professional certification in either a clinical or leadership specialty within two (2) years of hire.
- Educational Requirements : A BSN in nursing or within two (2) years of hire into the position.
- Minimum Experience : Three (3) years of direct care RN nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Other : Professional organization membership within three months of hire into the role.
Preferred Job Qualifications

Actively monitors the quality of service delivered in their department, including performance improvement programming, clinical metrics and risk management activities related to clinical care and departmental operations.Develop a vision via interdisciplinary collaboration to define ideal throughput processes and implement them across NGHS facilities.Assess, coach and evaluate staff's clinical practice; ensure competency, licensure, certifications, and annual training; design education and training to meet clinical needs.Routinely interact with Physician customers and Nursing leaders; support staff in maintaining positive interactions with Physicians and Nursing leadership.Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees; attend daily bed huddles and facilitate patient flow decisions.Maintain regular communication with all levels of staff; identify strengths and development needs to meet business needs.Support a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in clinical standards and best practice research.Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality controls and regulatory standards; oversee unit administrative tasks (e.g., PI audits, code cart).Provide progressive discipline when indicated; address customer service issues proactively.Engage with physicians and staff to adhere to evidence-based practice standards and organizational priorities to meet pillar metrics.Monitor staff performance and competency; assess staffing plans based on patient acuity and budgeted labor standards.Conduct environment of care assessments and mentoring as needed.Physical Demands
