Position Description
Performs specialized work in conducting original research. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants. Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations are responsibilities of all employees.

About the Department and / or College
Founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges, the College of Arts & Sciences is comprised of 15departments, offering a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, physical sciences, and natural sciences. The College has more than 10,000 students enrolled representing more than a quarter of the overall Texas Tech University student population while maintaining a 22 : 1student-to-faculty ratio.
The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management offers a B.S.in Kinesiology and an M.S.in Kinesiology for over1,400 undergraduate and40 graduate students, respectively. The department enrolls over 400 under graduate students in the B.S. in Sport Management and over 50 master's degree students in the M.S. in Sport Management. It also offers a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. Its building includes six classrooms, a student computer lab, and faculty offices.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a specialized field and one year research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting research in oral or written format (e.g., poster or podium presentation, abstract or manuscript preparation, etc.). Candidates with more extensive relevant education or experience will be given priority.
