Job description

Step into a fulfilling float role with Harborcreek Family Physicians and Lakeshore Family Practice, both conveniently located within the same building. We are seeking a compassionate and driven Registered Nurse to join our care delivery team and set high standards for quality and patient outcomes. This unique opportunity allows for close collaboration with healthcare professionals across two practices, offering both variety and continuity in your day-to-day care. This position will work Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between the hours of 7 : 30am and 5 : 30pm. No holidays or evenings are required. One to two Saturday's per year may be required depending on department and staffing needs. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $6000.00.

Title and starting pay rate of this position may vary based on years of experience.

Responsibilities :

Participate in quality improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, sharing insights with colleagues, and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and satisfaction.

Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with executives, physicians, healthcare teams, patients, and families to support high-quality care.

Demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical judgment skills to navigate complex patient care situations.

Adapt to a dynamic environment by managing multiple priorities, utilizing specialized equipment, and maintaining the physical stamina required for patient care.

Educate patients, families, students, and new staff by applying adult learning principles and providing clear, detailed guidance throughout the care process.

Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth through open dialogue, feedback, and mentorship.

Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, considering their holistic needs and personal goals.

Triage patient situations, coordinate care with physicians, and assist with assessments, evaluations, and education.

Utilize critical thinking to identify and address clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual concerns.

Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation to enhance communication and improve patient safety and quality of care.

Commit to ongoing professional development to enhance practice quality and patient care, while actively participating in shared governance and goal-setting initiatives.

Collaborate with the care team to support transitions, adapt to change, and contribute to improvements in patient care and the practice environment.

Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with patients, colleagues, and external partners through accountability, enthusiasm, and commitment.

Promote a culture of respect and collaboration by understanding cultural differences and fostering healthy, accountable relationships.

Model work-life balance, safe work practices, and effective time management while proactively addressing safety concerns in the workplace.

The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and / or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his / her assigned unit as specified below.

They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.

Minimum six months experience preferred.

BSN preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :

UPMC approved national certification preferred.

Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Graduate nurses must complete licensure examination within SIX MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.

Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 6 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)

Act 33 with renewal

Act 34 with renewal

Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
