Owner is a remote-first, global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. For a few of our roles we prioritize in-person collaboration at one of our office locations. We’re seeking a world-class Head of Talent who’s ready for the challenge and excited to help build a generational company, one exceptional hire at a time.
In this role you’ll build and evolve the recruiting strategy that powers our growth - architecting the end-to-end vision, strategy and operations of the talent function at Owner. Were not building a copy-paste recruiting function, we’re building one specific to Owner : fast, rigorous, data-informed, and human. This is a hybrid, remote-first role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Design, build, and scale a recruiting engine that delivers world-class outcomes across speed, quality, and candidate experience
Partner with department heads and Finance to forecast headcount and hiring priorities across Sales, Engineering, Product, and G&A
Lead and mentor a team of recruiters, helping them develop into high-performing talent partners
Establish clear metrics (e.g. funnel conversion, time-to-fill, offer acceptance, quality of hire) and use data to drive accountability and performance
Continuously improve process, tools, and candidate experience using data and feedback
Develop and execute employer brand initiatives that amplify our story and attract exceptional candidates
Serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders, helping them scope roles, build hiring plans, and maintain a high talent bar
Communicate regularly with executive stakeholders to ensure tight alignment between recruiting and business goals
Act as the strategic link between Recruiting, People, and Finance
This role reports to the VP of People, partners closely with senior executives, and collaborates across all departments.
Experience : 8+ years of recruiting experience, including 3+ years leading the talent function at a high-growth startup
Stage Fit : Proven success scaling a recruiting function from Series B / C through late-stage growth
Experience hiring exceptional talent across multiple functions, including Engineering and Go-To-Market, with a strong network and familiarity with top-tier talent
Tools & Infrastructure : Deep familiarity with recruiting systems (e.g. Lever, Greenhouse, Ashby, Gem, Metaview) and how to use them to drive efficiency and performance
Leadership : Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a recruiting team to exceed goals while maintaining an excellent candidate experience
Data-driven operator who can use metrics and observation to continuously improve process and outcomes, and has a passion for and track record of driving performance improvement across every part of the funnel.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $250-280K, plus a generous equity package
