Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a new Health Unit Coordinator. This position is entry level and responsible for a variety of administrative support functions and customer service for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients. The position facilitates communication between physicians, nurses and patients, calls in consults and acts as a liaison with all other internal departments and external contacts.
This position is for Full-Time, Day Shift, 2pm - 2 : 30am this will include weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. You will have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool as well as enjoy a flat rate $1 / hour weekend shift differential as well as an 18% Night shift differential.

This position is responsible for a variety of administrative support functions and customer service for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients. The position facilitates communication between physicians, nurses and physicians, calls in consults and acts as a liaison with all other internal departments and external contacts.
Core functions include performing receptionist / clerical duties, processing patient admissions, maintaining patient records, entering pending discharges, maintaining supplies, monitoring electronic equipment, and working under local supervision.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma / GED or equivalent working knowledge, 1 year of medical clerical experience, excellent organizational skills, effective human relations and communication skills, and working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.
Preferred qualifications include successful completion of an approved unit secretary program and BLS certification.
