Data Center Engineering Operations Technician

Join Amazon as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, where you will be the frontline responder for hands-on troubleshooting and operations of critical mechanical and electrical equipment. Your expertise is vital in maintaining our data centers, which include standby diesel generators, switchboards, UPSs, PDUs, and more. This role offers 24 / 7 shift coverage, including flexible 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules.

Key Responsibilities :

• Operate and maintain essential mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within established service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct limited maintenance tasks, including filter changes, HVAC preventative maintenance, and rack power installations.
• Support Data Center Operations technicians with various tasks and projects.
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures to ensure reliability.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols during work.
• Take daily operational readings of all critical machinery and systems.
• Utilize internal maintenance management systems to oversee workflows and spare part inventory.
• Supervise contractors during servicing or preventative maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency calls during your designated on-call rotation.
• Drive innovation to reduce operational costs while enhancing facility performance.

A Day in the Life :

After your initial training, you will support our ongoing data center infrastructure operations. Your day will begin by receiving updates from the team on handover, followed by routine checks of critical systems. Together with your partner, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and document procedures.
