Job Description

The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Loan Administrator is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex commercial real estate loans from origination through payoff or maturity. This role ensures the bank's interests are protected by reviewing and negotiating loan documentation, overseeing due diligence, and coordinating all aspects of the closing and post-closing process. The position requires strong collaboration with Relationship Managers, customers, attorneys, construction consultants, title companies, and internal partners across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Documentation & Negotiation :

Review and negotiate commercial real estate loan documents, including credit agreements, letters of credit, and syndicated transaction documents.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Loan Origination & Closing :

Manage the end-to-end process from loan approval to closing and payoff.

Conduct thorough due diligence, including review of appraisals, environmental reports, and other supporting documentation.

Prepare and review closing statements, settlement details, and fee processing.

Coordinate with agent banks and deal teams for syndicated transactions.

Portfolio Management :

Monitor covenant compliance, performance pricing, and financial tracking throughout the life of the loan.

Address audit requests and resolve collateral exceptions post-closing.

Submit final executed documentation to collateral and operations teams for funding and boarding.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

Serve as primary liaison with Relationship Managers, legal counsel, title companies, and construction consultants.

Partner with loan capital markets and specialty underwriting teams across East and West markets.

Systems & Reporting :

Utilize systems such as LIQ, Hogan, Encino, and AFS for loan administration and reporting.

Maintain accurate records and ensure timely updates for internal audits and compliance reviews.

The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the posted locations.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

Must meet the requirements to be commissioned as a Notary Public

Five to seven or more years experience in CRE loan administration

Preferred Skills / Experience

Advanced level of knowledge in all areas of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending including, but not limited to, letters of credit, tax credit transactions, borrowing base lending, multi-phased construction and transactions secured by multiple collateral properties

Strong technical expertise in the closing and loan management functions

Demonstrated ability to close complex CRE loans and manage a CRE loan portfolio

Thorough knowledge of CRE finance, law, documentation, accounting, and data systems

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range : $81,515.00 - $95,900.00
