As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired with Braille expertise, your work enables students to access learning, build independence, and fully engage in their education. We are currently hiring for a full-time contract TVI-Braillist position in a highly sought-after school district known for its inclusive practices, strong support for special education services, and collaborative environment. What You’ll Do in This Role
  • Provide direct instruction in Braille reading and writing to students with visual impairments
  • Adapt classroom materials into accessible formats using Braille and assistive technology
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families to support access to the general curriculum
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students on your caseload
  • Promote student independence in academic, daily living, and mobility skills as appropriate
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Visual Impairment or equivalent certification
  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Proficiency in Braille instruction and the use of assistive technology for visually impaired learners
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for equitable education
