Job Summary :
The ENDO Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the daily operations within the ENDO department run smoothly and efficiently and is expected to offer the highest quality patient care. The ENDO Coordinator will work within an integrated team of medical professionals, including Endo Techs, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Surgeons, and Anesthesiologists. The coordinator will work closely with other departments of Surgical Services to ensure the best possible patient care is achieved. The ENDO Coordinator is accountable and responsible for overseeing the clinical care and course of treatment of patients. The coordinator demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also shows knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs, and to provide the care required. The coordinator is accountable to the Director of Surgical Services.
Performance Expectations :
- Coordinates ENDO personnel to meet unit demands.
- Ensures effective beds utilization; determined staffing needs to be based on acuity levels, census, and resources.
- Communicates timely and competently with all employees and providers.
- Confirms that employees follow hospital policies, protocols, procedures, safety, and infection control practices.
- Assess the performance of staff, counsels employees concerning performance, and provide feedback to the Director of Surgical Services.
- Assumes responsibility for remaining current on job-related knowledge, skills, and ongoing education / in-service / credentialing / certification / licensure requirements.
- Ensures daily logs and quality measure are up-to-date
- Demonstrates competent skills necessary to function in ENDO : H & P requirements, ERCP, ERBE, Cautery, Argon, HALO, FMT therapy, Motility studies, maintaining central vascular access devices, IV starts, blood administration, airway patency, perform pre-op care plans, post anesthetic discharge assessment, fall and injury risk, pain management, post-operative anesthetic care, and others as deemed necessary.
- Performs and supervises during endoscopic procedures, admission, and recovery of patients or other related procedures.
- Demonstrates the aptitude for safely positioning and assisting patients during Endoscopy procedures.
- Implements a systematic and comprehensive plan of care to provide individualized care, educates patient and family about diagnosis, treatments, or prescribed medical regimen and medications in accordance with patient and family readiness and ability to learn.
- Maintains personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
- Provide 'hands-on' care as needed.
- Serves as a clinical mentor for staff nurses.
- Serves as a resource for troubleshooting clinical issues to staff.
- Responds to codes and emergencies timely.
- Investigates and files OTIS reports on incidents and accidents.
- Performs employee’s yearly evaluations in Health Stream.
- Utilizes KRONOS, Lawson, Health Stream and EPIC efficiently.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings, Go-Lives, and Surgical Services Department meeting routinely.
- Problem solves with other members of Surgical Services departments to promote professional, efficient patient care.
- Recommend budget improvements.
- Exhibits overall expertise in ENDO related to environmental rounds for improving visualization of the unit and satisfying DNV compliance.
- Exhibits a positive and problem-solving approach.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
- Maintains timely and accurate nursing records and ensuring that confidentiality is respected
- Storing, checking and administering drugs by established standards and guidelines.
- Implements a systematic and comprehensive plan of care to provide individualized care, educates patient and family about diagnosis, treatments, or prescribed medical regimen and medications by patient and family readiness and ability to learn. Maintains personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and uses professional judgment to respond promptly with intervention when clinical changes occur, and prevention of complications in patients.
- Communicate effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., customer service, safety, infection, control, and compliance standards.
- Consistently follows the patient care and FGH policy, procedures, and standards of care in performing nursing duties.
- Completes charges according to hospital policy.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications : Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited RN program required. BSN preferred.Preferred management experienceWork Experience :
Minimum of five years as a staff RN in an acute setting required.One year of Forrest General Hospital experience preferred.Certification / Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MSAdditional Certification / Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below
