Ohio Valley Voices is a 501C3 organization that teaches children that are deaf and hard of hearing how to listen and talk.
The Listening and Spoken Language Provider is to instruct the child in language, speech, and auditory development at a level that allows the child to close the gap to hearing peers. Specific duties include :
- Plans and implements all subjects in accordance with the approved curriculum
- Plans a program that meets the needs of the child and provide experiences to challenge each child
- Arranges field trips and review plans with the Teacher Coordinator
- Supervises students in the classroom, in the building, and on the playground at all times
- Supervises lunch and recess when necessary
- Cooperates with other staff members in sharing equipment, materials and facilities
- Maintain the order and appearance of rooms, cabinets, equipment, and shared spaces
- Attends weekly staff meetings and individual teacher meetings
- Participates in after school activities
- Follows all health and safety procedures
- Completes daily lesson plans in advance of each lesson and maintain a lesson plan binder
- Communicates regularly with parents about objectives and classroom activities
- Participates in progress conferences at least twice each school year
- Keeps accurate records on all students, including the TASL, TASP, TAAS, progress reports, and individual portfolios.
- Collects spontaneous language samples of students and record student progress based on samples
- Observes, records, and reports significant individual and group behavior and performance
- Demonstrates excellent relationship management skills
- Is punctual and dependable
- Does duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Work well in a team
- Demonstrates flexibility in their work responsibilities
Requirements :
Must be able to pass BCI / FBI check.
