Overview

Manager, Design Engineering, Structures at Archer. Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Leader to manage our advanced composite structures design team. This role provides critical leadership and guidance in design, development, and certification of critical composite structures for our eVTOL aircraft, ensuring optimal performance, weight efficiency, and safety while meeting stringent aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Identify key roles required for team success and recruit top talent into the Airframe team at Archer
• Provide team guidance, regular feedback, education, coaching and mentoring
• Create career development plans, manage performance, create performance reviews
• Coordinate with product teams to ensure proper resource levels to support program objectives
• Foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $185,000 - $225,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
