Responsibilities as a Cook
Food Preparation / Production Responsibilities
Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.’
Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost quality with a minimum of waste.
Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, and steam table.
Follow standard recipes dietary guidelines.
Prepares and assists with special function meals.
Completes work assignments in a timely manner.

Qualifications of a Cook
Primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine required
High school diploma preferred.
2 years of prior work experience with food preparation, experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
