Commodity Trader

This position is responsible for customer account management and coordinating and executing trading activities for assigned commodities.

Key responsibilities include :

• Manage the buying and selling activities for assigned commodities
• Develop deeper understanding of supply and demand, survey market conditions, and analyze other economic forces in order to establish position in the market
• Initiate, negotiate and agree on terms of commodity purchase / sale contracts, such as price, quality, quantity, transportation, timing and payment
• Arrange efficient transportation of commodities, both by truck and rail
• Ensure thorough and accurate follow-up, execution, and closure to all contracts
• Research and identify new customers and / or suppliers as well as develop and maintain regular communication to build and grow current customer relationships
• Analyze commodity markets to identify trading opportunities
• Gain basic understanding of arbitrage, macro-environmental factors that impact the supply and demand of commodities, and logistics process and decision making
