General Description / Objective The Doctoring Crew is a critical part of feedyard functionality that is responsible for the day to day health and wellness of the Friona Industries feedyard livestock.
Successful members are resilient, honest, dependable, and genuinely concerned in aiding in the wellness of the feedyard cattle population.
Doctoring Crew members will work closely with all feedyard departments and veterinarian both as an individual and as a member of a team to establish the highest quality care and maintenance of the feedyard to ensure the welfare of livestock while contributing to the overall success of the feedyard team.

Roles and Tasks
Adheres to Beef Quality Assurance standards and practicesProperly administering prescribed treatment and medication to livestockProperly handling of all medications and medical supplies associated with feedyard cattle health requirementsMaintain related equipment and facilities utilized by feedyard livestockResponsible for determining mortality and recording information in the feedyard animal health recordsAccountable for recording the pen number and ear tag number in the feedyard record systemMaintain Accurate records and deliver proper notification off all pertinent dataRecognize sick cattle and determine and aid in the diagnosis of illnessMaintain sanitary and clean working facilitiesClean and maintain sick pen water troughs dailyContinual observance and adherence of all safety policies and proceduresPromote, support, and participate in all company policies, procedures and programsOther duties and job assignments are necessary for feedyard effectiveness Specific Knowledge :Basic Knowledge of livestock health and habitsKnowledge of fundamental animal health programsUnderstand and apply humane handling policies and procedure of livestock IT / Technical Knowledge : Basic computer knowledge Minimum Experience Required : One Year doctoring crew experience Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills- Add Special Conditions / Requirements :Physical Requirements Include : standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, shoveling, working, equipment, and handling livestockConsiderable exposure to weather such as : rain, sleet, snow, hail, heat, cold, wind, and dustDaily close proximity to livestockOccasional physical exertion during administration of medical attentionHazards Include : Livestock accidents and transmissible disease Tools Utilized : Training Provided as Necessary It is our policy to provide equal employment opportunities and we will not unlawfully consider any factors of race, religion, age, creed, national origin, gender, disability veteran status or any and all other unlawful biases regarding federal, state or local laws with regard to workers or applicants.Friona Industries participates in E-Verify.We will provide the U.S.Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the U.S.Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from each new employer’s Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.Powered by JazzHR
