Job Description

Position : CNC Mill / Lathe Machinist

We’re looking for skilled CNC Machinists to join our growing team! Whether you’re an experienced machinist or building on a solid foundation in the trade, this role offers the chance to work with state-of-the-art CNC equipment and produce precision parts for the aerospace and defense industry. You’ll be responsible for setups, programming adjustments, and inspections, not just running machines.

What You’ll Do :

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components to print
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Perform complete and partial setups, including tooling, fixturing, and program adjustments
  • Adjust tool offsets, work coordinates, feeds, and speeds to optimize part quality
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues, implementing corrective actions to keep production on track
  • Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments
  • Maintain accurate documentation for setups, inspections, and production records
  • Monitor tooling conditions and replace or adjust tools as needed to ensure accuracy and minimize downtime
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines and collaborate with maintenance staff on repairs
  • Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and contributing to a culture of craftsmanship and problem solving

Qualifications :

  • U.S. Citizenship required (Required by Department of Defense)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machines; programming knowledge (G-code) a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions
  • Familiarity with precision inspection and metrology tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills — able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks as part of daily work
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with eagerness to learn and grow in the trade
  • Why Join Us?

At Bowden Manufacturing, we value precision, craftsmanship, and teamwork. We’re committed to investing in our machinists with ongoing training, skill development, and opportunities to grow within the company. If you’re ready to do more than just push buttons; if you want to build, problem-solve and take pride in producing top-quality parts…we’d love to talk.
