TITLE : Senior Tax Accountant
REPORTS TO : Tax Director and Manager
MAIN FUNCTION : The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation and / or review of federal and state compliance work
SAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Review and / or prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals.
Review and / or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.
Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.
Review various year end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages.
Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.
Assist in gathering information for tax audits.
Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have.
Research federal, state and local tax issues
Responsible for the mentoring of staff
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
4-Year accounting degree
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to be a “Team Player”
Ability to handle pressure.
Handle directions with minimal supervision
5-10 years experience in the preparation / review of tax returns
Working knowledge of applicable tax law and regulations
Proficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications.
Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.
