\n Unit\t"ICU Float\n(Combination : MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.)"\n# Beds : \t\nNurse : Patient Ratios : \t"1 : 1-2 dependent on acuity; may be asked to flex up to 1 : 3\n1 : 1 for high acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, Impella, etc. "\nRequired Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) : \tBLS, ACLS\nCommon diagnoses / Types of patients\tGeneral- Combination ICUs\nExperience or 'Must have' skills\t"Must have 2 years of ICU experience \nPrefer prior travel experience\n\nIf a 1st time traveler- then they need to have 3+ years of ICU experience & have Epic experience "\nAre RNs required to titrate drips?\tMust be comfortable titrating all critical drips\nCommon titratable & / or set rate drips\tPressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, & more\nCharge Nurse / House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?\tDesignated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment\nAre there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios\tNone; For sitter needs only \nHospitalist or Intensivist in house\t\nRT in ICU 24 / 7\t"Designated RT for ICU- but may not be on the unit 24 / 7; \nRNs expected to be able to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs. "\nRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)\tVents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow; Breathing treatments \nAre there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?\tNo monitor tech; RNs are expected to read and interpret their own tele \nShifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling?
