American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a busy off-campus ED setting, requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a high-acuity off-campus Emergency Department with 10 ED beds and up to 10 hall spacesPatient population includes neonates through geriatrics, with 25% pediatric cases and a mix of trauma, cardiac, neuro, GI, psych, and respiratory casesPatient ratios are typically 1 : 4, with fast track assignments up to 1 : 6Float among multiple off-campus ED sites as needed; primary assignment may change based on operational needsRN is responsible for all respiratory care including ventilators and BiPAP due to no RT onsiteCharting via Epic with Alaris and Pyxis systemsNight shifts are 12 hours, with rotating weekends and start times ranging from 1500 to 1900Orientation includes hospital onboarding, unit educator training, respiratory care class, and unit shadowingWill provide care for intubated patients and manage all ventilator functions as there are no RTs onsiteCharge duties may be assigned; training provided if neededSupport staff includes LPNs (can take low acuity assignments), EST / phlebotomy (RN / LPNs primarily draw labs), and supervision via pharmacy videoconferenceFirst-time travelers are encouraged to applyScrub color is flexible; any color acceptedN95s, PAPRs, and goggles provided for PPEParking is free at all locationsWeekend and holiday scheduling is negotiable; block scheduling is not guaranteedUp to 5 days of time off can be approved; requests for more than 5 days require manager approval\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license requiredBLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; 5 years experience required for CAP positionsProficiency in managing ventilators, BiPAP, medication preparation, IV insertion, chest tubes, and central linesMust pass traveler telemetry competency prior to startEpic EMR experience preferredAbility to provide care independently for all age groups and trauma types\n Benefits\n
