American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring a WA or compact RN license and expertise across a broad patient population.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Emergency Department of a Level III Trauma CenterFacility has 375 licensed beds and 46 ED beds, including 5 safe psych rooms and a Fast Track areaAverage of 200 patients per day from peds to geriatrics, including trauma, cardiac (STEMI), sepsis, DKA, mental health, and respiratory emergenciesPatient ratio is typically 1 : 4-5, flexing based on acuity and staffingShifts are 12 hours, primarily mids and nights (1500, 1900), with possible rotation to days, as notified in advanceWeekend schedules vary depending on unit needsNo on-call requirementEpic is used for documentation; Alaris and Pyxis in use; central and bedside telemetry with monitoring at nursing stationNo floating to other unitsResponsibilities include caring for trauma, high-acuity medical, cardiac, psychiatric, and limited pediatric patientsComprehensive support team includes charge nurse, ER techs, resource / float nurse, RT, educator, security, social work, pharmacy, and house supervisor, all available 24 / 7Orientation includes unit onboarding, Epic training, and precepted shiftRequired to work 2 out of 5 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, or New Year's DayDress code allows any professional scrub color; piercings must be modest and tattoos must not be offensiveFirst-time travelers are welcomeTraveller-friendly, fast-paced, team-oriented work environmentFree parking is available in designated areas\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI or MOABProficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, blood administration, procedural sedation, and cardiac drips / medicationsTelemetry competency exam must be completed and passed before start\n Benefits\n
