Plans, directs, and monitors maintenance policies, procedures, and techniques to ensure that GSF and division objectives for efficiency, economy, quality, and productivity are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
Plans and directs the day-to-day activities of maintenance staff to ensure optimal utilization of maintenance resources, optimal balance of work week and weekend work priorities, effective work order processing, rapid production breakdown response, efficient project completion, and implementation of other maintenance policies and procedures. (25%)
Monitors maintenance of production machinery, related equipment, and spare parts inventory to ensure maintenance standards are met, to minimize down-time, and to meet production schedule requirements. (25%)
Directs preventive maintenance and equipment rebuilds to ensure efficient and safe operations. Assists in scheduling predictive and preventative maintenance, including holding regular meetings with personnel to plan / isolate and repair equipment. (20%)
Designs or directs design of control systems to enhance company productivity and reduce down-time. Collects, records, and analyzes production (including downtime) data to optimize efficiencies and product quality and assists in performing RCA and actions to improve the reliability and maintainability of the assets. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by involving all employees in proactive maintenance strategies. With the goal of downtime elimination. (20%)
Supervises maintenance staff, including work allocation and training and development to ensure maintenance operations objectives are met. Assists in evaluating technicians' performance and detecting gaps between training and skills needed for the tasks. (10%)
Assists in gathering parts needed and checking spare parts inventory by utilizing the CMMS system. Maintains equipment information, repair files, and parts data for up-to-date accuracy.
Maintains good working knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, rules, and procedures pertinent to the area of responsibility and ensures all applicable requirements are adhered to. Reports unsafe working conditions to management and communicates potential hazards to affected employees.
Ensures employees are provided required training for area, jobs, and tasks prior to assigning work.
Implements and supports Total Productive Maintenance (Golden performance system) activities
Tracks, analyzes and shares function related KPI's. While creating action plans to improve KPI's not at target.
Conducts regular TPM training sessions for staff to ensure proper understanding and execution of TPM principles
Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
Manages, through subordinate supervisors, up to 50 employees.
Performance categories include productivity / quality standards, budget, cost containment, teamwork, project / assignment standards, customer satisfaction, safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to :
Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
3 to 5 years of experience in Maintenance Management or Maintenance Planning or Supervisor
2 years of experience in welding, cutting, gearbox repair, pump alignment, material handling systems, preventative maintenance with exposure and / or instrument and electrical work in an industrial processing facility or in a machine shop with exposure to PM programs.
