The Engineer II, Corrosion Control is an intermediate-level Engineer role with responsibilities to support the various programs that comprise company’s Corrosion Control program.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Corrosion Control Program Support. Supporting the implementation of Buckeye’s Corrosion Control Programs, including but not limited to,
- Evaluating and continuously improving Buckeye’s Corrosion Control Program through the investigation, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies.
- Performing corrosion control system designs.
- Researching background of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for program evaluation.
- Reviewing failure and metallurgical analyses reports with corrosion control root causes / implications.
Ø Data Integration & Management. Facilitating Corrosion Control data integration within Buckeye’s GIS or other applications
Ø Risk Management & Mitigation. Managing risk analyses and developing risk prevention / mitigation strategies.
Ø Stakeholder Engagement. Identifying and involving stakeholders (both internal and external to Corrosion Control) for key decisions and preparing Management of Change (MOC) work orders for Corrosion Control-related activities and / or procedure revisions, as required
Ø Project / Program Management. Developing budgets and monitoring maintenance forecasts and expenditures related to the Corrosion Control Programs.
Ø Department Support. Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.
Ø And other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's Degree is required.
Experience : Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience.
Special skills : Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications required.
Special skills : Proficiency with SQL, ESRI GIS, PowerBI, FME, Python, R, or other programming languages to perform data analysis is preferred.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes relating to corrosion control management is required.
Travel Requirements : 10% travel possible.
Certificates & Licenses :
Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer certification is highly desirable.
Minimum NACE CP-2 / AMPP certification, or equivalent experience, is required.
Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities :
Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
To be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.
