Director of Support and Applications
The Opportunity
The Director of Support and Applications is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of the firm’s IT support services and enterprise application portfolio. This role ensures reliable, secure, and efficient technology services that directly support attorneys, legal operations, and business functions across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Lead all IT support and service delivery functions, ensuring high availability and executive-level support.
- Establish and manage IT service management processes, including SLAs, KPIs, and continuous improvement.
- Own the full lifecycle of enterprise and legal applications across core business systems.
- Partner with legal operations and business leaders to align technology with firm workflows and strategy.
- Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing support and application teams.
- Manage vendors, contracts, budgets, and managed service providers.
- Ensure applications and support services meet security, compliance, and risk requirements.
- Drive IT transformation initiatives, including automation, modernization, and AI adoption.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership of support and application teams.Proven experience managing enterprise applications in a law firm or professional services environment.Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITIL or equivalent).Experience with cloud-based SaaS platforms, integrations, and vendor management.Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholders and competing priorities.Experience operating in high-availability, high-expectation environments.Familiarity with legal and enterprise platforms (e.g., case management, DMS, MS365, finance systems).Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or equivalent (preferred).
