Job description

GQR Healthcare is seeking a LPN / LVN Behavioral Health for a travel job in Coalinga, California.

Job Title : Behavioral Health LVN – Variable Shifts

Start Date : November 3rd (tentative – must be flexible)

Orientation Date : November 3rd (tentative – must be flexible)

Contract Details :

  • Contract Length : 26 or 52 weeks
  • Hours : 40 hours per week, 5x8s
  • Variable – Final shift assignment will be determined after orientation. Candidates must be flexible and available to work any shift.
  • Overtime : Not guaranteed, available on an as-needed basis
  • Orientation : Approximately 30 days
  • Training : Conducted on Day shift (5x8s); includes medication certification, shadowing, and learning unit procedures
  • Orientation occurs once per month; no RTO allowed during training

    • Requirements :

  • Active LVN license (CA license must be active or in process; renewal proof required if expired)
  • Must be comfortable working with the following patient population :

    • Adult male patients who are forensic psychiatric patients (committed by the courts for treatment).

  • Many are sexually violent predators (SVPs) who are civilly committed after completing prison sentences.
  • Patients with serious mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, etc.).
  • BLS certification (must be current)
  • COVID-19 vaccination card (exemptions accepted)
  • Driver’s license or government-issued ID
  • Minimum 2 years of LVN experience

    • Environment & Patient Population :

  • Behavioral health / mental health setting
  • Aggression level is low to moderate
  • Patients have freedom within designated perimeters, with check-in times and head counts
  • Focus is on therapy and patient engagement, not just locked-unit care
