Sr. Systems Engineer

Overview

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to design high-reliability, safety-critical systems for aircraft design
• Lead a cross-functional team to conduct operational and functional analysis
• Define and decompose system requirements with traceability through the overall system architecture
• Develop robust system / subsystem architectures along with interface definitions
• Define and manage technical / programmatic performance measures (e.g., cost, weight, performance objectives)
• Enable full system safety compliance to appropriate regulations
• Work with technical disciplines to develop verification plans, support verification / test planning, and demonstrate compliance with system requirements
• Coordinate with regulators and design reviewers on certification substantiation artifacts
• Collaborate with the chief engineer to ensure the product meets business and certification requirements
