The Role

We are seeking a high-impact, entrepreneurial Associate Market Leader who is committed to learning the responsibilities and functions of a Market Leader. This individual will play a key role in building, growing, and managing our Philadelphia brokerage office.

The Associate Market Leader position is a 24-month developmental role, with the expectation that, upon successful completion of the program, the individual will be promoted to Market Leader and assume full responsibility for running their own office.

During the development period, the Associate Market Leader will work closely with and support the current Market Leader(s) of our surrounding market(s) in executing core office leadership responsibilities, including :

  • Driving office profitability
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier agents
  • Delivering training and professional development
  • Enhancing overall sales performance

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a high-performance, high-accountability culture and is motivated to make a tangible impact in the commercial real estate industry-particularly at the fastest-growing commercial real estate brokerage firm.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Champion and uphold Matthews™ core values and performance standards
  • Drive a high-activity office culture
  • Lead by example through daily presence and hands-on coaching
  • Recruiting & Hiring

  • Identify and recruit experienced brokers, recent college graduates, and career changers
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting : sourcing, interviewing, offers, onboarding
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of new hires
  • Training & Agent Development

  • Conduct Monday Meetings, weekly workshops, and activity reviews
  • Oversee mentor-mentee relationships and certifications
  • Deliver ongoing coaching and strategic business development sessions
  • Performance Management

  • Monitor agent activity ratios including call volume, proposals, listings, escrows, and closings
  • Track pipeline activity, ensure adoption of Matthews tools and resources, and review listing agreements
  • Set individual agent goals and execute improvement plans as needed
  • Revenue & Office Growth

  • Manage office revenue goals and productivity benchmarks
  • Align agent deployment strategy to maximize product and geography coverage
  • Participate in senior agent recruiting and expansion efforts
  • Qualifications

    Required :

  • 2-5 years in commercial real estate brokerage as an agent
  • Experience preparing for and making cold calls
  • Proven success in recruiting, mentoring, or managing sales teams
  • Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and different product types and service lines (investment sales, leasing, debt origination, retail, multifamily, industrial, office, self-storage, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work early hours, late evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to relocate to New York City for the first 6-12 months of tenure at Matthews for initial training (financial assistance provided).
  • Preferred

  • Leadership experience at a brokerage or real estate firm
  • Familiarity with CRM and ATS systems
  • Strong business acumen and P&L understanding
