Create and maintain detailed design documentation including network layouts, splice diagrams, and route maps. Utilize internal teams for site surveys and assessments to determine optimal network routes and placements as needed. Collaborate with project managers, team members, and contractors to ensure accurate implementation of designs. Utilize GIS, PDF editors, and CAD software to develop and refine network designs. Perform cost analysis to support network design decisions, constructability, and optimization choices. Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and company guidelines in all designs. Provide technical support and guidance during the construction and deployment phases of the project as needed. Review and approve as-built documentation to ensure the accuracy of the final network. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in fiber optic technology and industry best practices. Telecommunications or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in fiber optic network design, OSP construction, or a related role preferred. Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and other design software tools preferred. Strong understanding of fiber optic technology including splicing, testing, and troubleshooting. Experience with both aerial and underground fiber deployment methods. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ITU, IEEE, NESC) and local regulations.
