Med / Surg RN Job Details

Position Type : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse

Location : On-site in Penn Yan, NY (Zip : 14527) – New York healthcare jobs

Assignment Dates : November 17, 2025 – February 28, 2026

Duration : 15-week nursing contract

Shifts : 2x12 hour shifts per week, rotating days / nights, every other weekend and holidays required

Hours per Week : 24

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1830–$1960

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse (RN) license

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Med / Surg RN in an acute care or hospital setting

Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients and families in a medical-surgical (Med / Surg) acute care environment

Conduct patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Monitor cardiac and telemetry patients, ensuring patient safety and timely interventions

Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge instructions

Foster a healing environment by delivering emotional support and comfort

Advocate for patient safety, rights, and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Accurately document nursing care and patient progress in electronic health records

Adhere to infection prevention protocols and maintain required clinical competencies
