Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,758 per week in Merced, CA

Job Title : ICU Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Intensive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Required Certifications : ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have : Comfortable with floating to tele and med / surg floors. Strong IV skills. Familiarity with the ABCDE bundle and managing ventilation. Description : The unit consists of 20 beds and provides comprehensive care for critically ill patients. Staff may be deployed to other areas to care for boarded ICU patients. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 2. Charge nurses are available on each shift and do not take patients. Nurses are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7. Hospitalists are present around the clock, while intensivists provide support but may not be available at all times. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, DKA, hyperglycemia, COPD, and GI bleeds. Nurses will be responsible for managing a full patient load when floated.
