Responsibilities and Duties :
Accurately lay out and install conduit and control wiring per NEC, control drawings, and company standards.Direct and work with helpers as requiredAssure quality of installation with maximum efficiencyInstall control components and factory provided HVAC unit accessoriesLabel control components per company standardsConstant communication with installation supervisor about job status and needsCommunicate to team members including creation of daily log dailyComplete work order and change order forms when necessaryAssist in purchasing of necessary installation materialsCreation of as-built drawingsAttend job meetings when requiredCoordinate with other tradesMaintain company vehicle and company supplied toolsMaintain the expected safety levelRequired Skills :
Understanding of local codes.Thorough understanding of installation tools, techniques, and devices.Ability to install electrical conduit.Ability to install copper piping to support instrumentation.Thorough understanding of control submittal packages.Thorough understanding of plans, specifications, and submittals.Through understanding of product submittals and wiring diagrams.Command of the technical language involved with automation and mechanical systems.Good organizational and planning skills.Good verbal and written communication skills.Good problem-solving skills (striving for win-win).Understands and executes "completion".Fosters relationships with customers and team members.Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring schematics, and control drawingsPhysical Requirements and Job Environment :
All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 50 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc.Ability to stand, bend, and kneel when neededComfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.All Automation Install Mechanics typically load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place at the job site. This may involve carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain.Familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer type drills and similar tools. (familiar with safe operation of required tools)Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor utility plants.
