Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain essential IT infrastructure. This position is ideal for an experienced and hands-on professional with expertise in Microsoft technologies and network security - and telephony systems experience and AI integrations experience are preferred.

This is a contract-to-hire role, and is onsite 5 days a week in Oakland, CA.

Key Responsibilities :

Serve as technical escalation for complex IT infrastructure issues.
Design, deploy, and optimize IT systems, ensuring security and reliability.
Manage enterprise applications, virtual environments, and networks.
Oversee telephony systems, including AI-enabled integrations.
Drive security management protocols and best practices.
Mentor team members and collaborate across departments.

Top Skills Required :

Microsoft Ecosystem Expertise : Advanced proficiency with Microsoft technologies (Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, etc.).

Security Knowledge : Strong foundation in network security, and telephony experience preferred.

ITIL framework understanding for streamlined change and incident management.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

Telephony + AI Integration – Experience with ShoreTel and / or Cisco telephony systems, plus familiarity with AI integrations for features like language identification or switching.

Familiarity with virtualization tools, including VMware and Hyper-V.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s in IT or comparable experience (7+ years in infrastructure engineering).

Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Security+, ITIL).
