What You'll Do As a Assistant Manager, Organ Placement, you will directly contribute to LifeLink's life-saving mission. Primary responsibility is to work within established LifeLink Foundation, OPO, and regulating agency policies and procedures to direct the resources available to bring about a successful placement of cadaveric kidneys and / or extra-renal organs for transplantation. The Assistant Manager of Organ Placement will be responsible for day-to-day oversight, mentoring, education, training, and evaluation of the Organ Placement Coordinators (OPCs). The Assistant Manager will support and assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, strategies, and action plans related to the placement of organs. Coordinates the orientation of new OPCs to ensure the process is efficient and comprehensive. This position maintains an ongoing open line of communication with the Organ Placement Manager, Administrator on Call, and the OPO Director(s) as appropriate. This position will also function as a resource and support for all Recovery Services staff and will work in close collaboration with the Organ Placement Manager, and Manager and Assistant Manager Transplant Coordinators.

Four years' experience as a organ placement coordinator or experience in transplant, OPO, critical care nursing and / or other positions with similar responsibilities. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, problem analysis and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate and achieve cooperation. Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with other staff members and hospital or other external agency personnel. Must be able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality of LifeLink business. Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and participate in 24-hour call. Required to work for extended periods of time with few breaks. Ability to lift up to 50lbs with assistance.
Working Conditions Generally pleasant in a fully supported team-office environment with periods of high stress and extended hours. On-call rotation responsibilities with 24-hour cell phone accessibility.
