Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in California requiring a current CA RN license and strong critical care qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in an acute hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15
  • Weekend requirements include working every other Friday and Saturday
  • Care for critically ill adult patients
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, coordination, and delivery of nursing care for critical care patients
  • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and care teams
  • Compliance with hospital standards, best practices, and applicable regulations is expected
  • Orientation modules must be completed, typically 1-5 hours of e-learning modules recorded during orientation
  • Return travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year prior to returning
  • Candidates must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
  • Scrub color or dress code requirements will be clarified during orientation
  • Holiday coverage is required as needed

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
  • PALS certification required within 180 days of hire
  • TNCC required within 180 days of hire
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
  • Must be eligible per 50-mile travel radius rule
  • Only one holiday request off will be approved
