Financial Care Agent - Augusta

Responsibilities : Responsible for serving as front-line support for Patient Financial Care within Piedmont. The incumbent handles and resolves in-person, telephonic or digital customer inquiries and / or concerns by providing patients / guarantors from both hospitals and physician practices with a consistent and seamless experience. The incumbent follows up on and collects pre-service, at-service or outstanding guarantor balances when required. Provides information on estimated cost of services, verifies coverage, secures authorization, makes appointments, and explains insurance benefits and information on financial resources to patients / guarantors.

Qualifications : Minimum education required is a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum experience required is two (2) years of healthcare revenue cycle experience. Minimum licensure / certification required by law is none. Additional qualifications include five (5) years of healthcare Revenue Cycle experience with a focus in financial counseling is desired. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association, or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative is preferred. Understanding of Medical Terminology. Prior Epic experience preferred.
