This is a Full Time Position. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in our Noblesville clinic. Wednesdays we are in our Tipton clinic. Our practice hours are from 7 : 30am - 5 : 15pm with an hour lunch break.
We are seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic and patient-focused orthodontic practice. As an integral member of our team, you will work closely with our orthodontist to deliver exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate is passionate about orthodontics, highly skilled in assisting orthodontic procedures, and committed to providing a positive experience for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the orthodontist in delivering orthodontic treatment to patients, including but not limited to braces placement, adjustments, and removals.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and properly stocked with supplies and equipment.
- Take accurate impressions, X-rays, and photographs of patients' teeth and oral structures.
- Perform orthodontic appliance adjustments and wire changes under the supervision of the orthodontist.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including instructions for wearing and caring for braces or other orthodontic appliances.
- Maintain and update patient records, including treatment charts, progress notes, and relevant documentation.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the orthodontist's calendar efficiently.
- Assist with front desk duties, such as greeting patients, answering phone calls, and handling administrative tasks as needed.
- Sterilize and maintain orthodontic instruments, equipment, and treatment areas following established infection control protocols.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in orthodontic techniques, and product knowledge to provide the highest standard of care.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited orthodontic assisting program is preferred.
- Preference for 1 year of experience as an orthodontic assistant.
- Solid understanding of orthodontic procedures, terminology, and dental anatomy.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays, scans, and photographs.
- Knowledge of sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate the needs of the orthodontist.
- Proficient in using orthodontic software and computer systems.
- CPR certification is a plus.
