Position : Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)

Job Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will play a key role in the development and implementation of South Central Regional Medical Center’s Sports Medicine program. Working under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the ATC is responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This position provides direct coverage at assigned events and clinical support within the Sports Medicine department, ensuring safe participation and optimal recovery for athletes and patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for athletic injuries, including prevention, assessment, treatment (first aid / emergency care), rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning in alignment with NATA Board of Certification standards.
- Deliver event coverage for pre-season physicals, practices, games, matches, and related athletic events.
- Implement injury prevention strategies such as taping, bracing, and conditioning programs.
- Maintain accurate medical records, injury documentation, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with physicians, program coordinators, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate athletes, families, and coaches on injury prevention and safe return-to-play guidelines.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field (Master’s preferred).Current Mississippi state licensure in Athletic Training.Current certification and good standing with the NATABOC (Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers).Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of Athletic TrainingCurrent CPR and / or ACLS certification.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and provide event coverage as assigned.
